PROGRAMMES OFFERRED

RETREATS

Our aim is to make retreats available to all.
On request our team will guide a Weeks Retreat in Daily Life in your Parish, workplace  or Campus.
This invites Jesus in a special way into your everyday life and work.

The group meets at the beginning. Each one is assigned a Guide whom they meet each day during the week at a time and place agreed upon. The retreatant commits to at least 30 mins prayer daily. The group meets again to conclude the week

We respond to requests for days or weekends of prayer.
Individual Spiritual Guidance or retreat guidance is also available.
Preparation for the sacraments for individuals or groups.

INTRODUCTION TO SCRIPTURE, THEOLOGY, SPIRITUALITY

This ‘Home Learning’ method of study enables people to get a good foundation and is concerned with linking study with the person’s life experience.
It is also a programme of Spiritual formation in that emphasis is placed on praying the Scriptures and praying around the different articles of Faith which are studied.
It does not provide a person with any job qualification but enriches their spiritual life in such a way that they will have more to offer to whatever role they find themselves in.

Programmes have been offered on request.
The academic component is tailored to the needs of a particular group.
Usually the teaching is for a three hour period once a month.
Some exercises are given to guide personal study.
In between lessons, students meet in study groups with people who live near.
The aim is to come to where it is most convenient for the students.

PROGRAMME FOR YOUTH OUT OF SCHOOL

After Form Four many young people have a long period of waiting for the next step of their lives.
This is a time when much support is needed.
Zaidi has developed a Programme from December to August to help give focus to these months.

This will entail:
- Finding some self-sustaining project or community service.
- Guided reflection at the end of each week.
- Talks from experts on various life issues such as; Legal rights, Health Issues, Behaviour Change, Small Business Management as well as Spiritual development.

APOSTLESHIP OF PRAYER

This is an International Spiritual Movement within the Church.
It helps individuals and families to be aware of God present and active in all of life.
The Morning Offering, said each morning, makes our whole day holy.
It also helps us to be in union with the Church throughout the world as we pray together for a special intention each month.

Each year we publish a little booklet giving
The Morning  Offering
The Intentions for each month with a short reflection
A Liturgical calendar
Daily Gospel references

USING MEDIA FOR EVANGELIZATION

Zaidi aims at using whatever means is most effective.
Young people, on their own initiative, have become involved  in Radio Prgrammes for youth.
Each Saturday you can get each Sundays readings by SMS . Just send SOMO to 4445

A lending library at Guadalupe Church makes available books on Spirituality and development.

TRAINING  OF TRAINERS

Lay people are trained as Prayer Guides  the ‘Weeks of Prayer  in Daily Life’.
Some, with sufficient foundation, train to guide the Ignatian Exercises.

Each year a group of Catholic Secondary Teachers follows three workshops in Faith and Value Education.

The goals of this program are:
- To empower Catholic Religious Education teachers in Kenya Secondary schools to impart religious education to the youth, helping them to build a strong personal relationship with God and embrace a life guided by Christian values.
- Help teachers to mature in aspects of their Christian life and therefore serve as models for the youth they are charged with.
- Improve their communication skills.
